WELCOME

Lake Munmorah Public School is a vibrant and dynamic educational setting that offers a large number of opportunities for students.  These opportunities will provide excellent educational, social and emotional experiences where children and their families can be involved in working together with staff and our wider community.

Our school staff is a mixture of experienced and new to teaching teachers and a similar make up of support staff, that provides a sound basis for teaching and support to students.  We are able to confidently cater for the individual needs of students, working closely with parents and providing additional support.  This support can be provided through the Reading Recovery program, Support Teacher Learning, School counselling and School Learning Support Officers.  We are able to tap into the support offered by the Home School Liaison Officer and a number of itinerant teachers supporting students with vision, hearing and behaviour needs.

Through a variety of sources we are able to provide excellent facilities including high levels of technology teaching and resources, an outstanding Library facility and well resourced classrooms.  A significant part of our resources is provide through community and P&C support.  Our P&C is a very active and happy group of parents who work tirelessly to support a large number of programs and initiatives that directly benefit our students.

We have a close association with a number of community groups.  We offer our students access to Breakfast Club on a daily basis and this program runs at almost no cost to the school due to the generosity of local businesses.

Our school welcomes the participation in school activities from the families of our students and appreciate that every family has the ability to support our school community, whether that involves working in the classrooms, helping in the library, attending P&C, helping with sport coaching, on excursions or buying a raffle ticket.

Homework is encouraged and supported at Lake Munmorah Public School.  We provide students with a Homework Centre after school one day per week.  This is run by teachers on a volunteer basis and provides students with the opportunity to work on set homework in a fully supported environment and teaches students self help skills with set tasks.

We also offer students a variety of extra curricula activities that promote the development of the whole child, fostering their individual interests and talents. These activities include public speaking, dance groups ( both junior and senior), debating, choir and drama.  We have a strong focus on student leadership and provide many opportunities for students to develop their confidence and skills in this area.

Lake Munmorah Public School provides a positive environment that encourages students to grow and develop towards becoming capable young adults.  We actively encourage an environment where students are continually encouraged to ‘Believe and Achieve’.
