| The National Partnership on Literacy is a joint initiative
between the Australian and NSW Governments. It is a state-wide program
managed by individual NSW education sectors. Participation in this
National Partnership will give teachers and school executive
opportunities to embed improvement practices that will further develop
their teaching of reading. |

|
The Partnership focuses on three areas:
- High quality teaching
- Strong leadership
- Effective use of student performance information
|
To achieve sustained improvement individual students who are
experiencing difficulty in reading will have access to specific
intervention programs. Teachers will access professional learning
focused on accelerating whole class improvement.
