Creating a Simple Spreadsheet |

| In
Cell A1 Type the heading for your
spreadsheet - in this example it is Class Pets |
| Continue down the first (A) column typing the names of various
pets. eg dogs, cats, birds etc |
| Click on
Cell A1 and change the font size to
size 28. Font colour and type can be changed if desired.
Click in Cell A1 and drag the mouse across to
Cell F1 and
click the Merge and Centre Icon |

| In
Column B type the relevant number
corresponding to the pets.
Select all the cells used in
column A and B. Change the font size to 14. |

| You will notice that the first column is not
wide enough for the text
To make it wider place the
mouse on the line between at the top of column A and
column
B
Drag the line to the desired width. |

| The spreadsheet
will add up the total number of pets for you. |
 |
| In
column A type
total in the next cell. |
Select or
highlight all the numbers in column B and click AutoSum.

| Select or highlight all the data except the
heading and the total. |

Use one of the Sort buttons to arrange your data ...OR ... |

Use the Data menu > Sort
This allows you to choose
whether your sort Alphabetically (Column A) of Numerically
(Column B) |

Finally your spreadsheet can be coloured using the fill tool
for colouring different cells |
